Park started over Sosa because Sosa had pitched on Sunday. I guess they could have held him out of his start on Sunday, but I can't find fault with keeping Sosa on track the way he's pitching in AAA. And let's not forget that Sosa had a very bad year last year. There's nothing wrong with being more careful with him in the hope you can recapture 2005, instead of bouncing him up and down as you can do with Park, who the team probably cares less about.

Umm, Sosa was unavailable because he pitched the DAY BEFORE!. They knew about the injury before he made that meanigless start for New Orleans. Yes I haven't forgotten that Sosa has a bad yr last yr. But let's also not forget Chan Ho Park's entire BAD CAREER. Thats why theyre both in AAA, if they were awesome theyde be in the majors. Both were given the opportunity to see who could suck less. Sosa was obviously the winner. The Mets need to reward performance, not being the bigger name.

Sosa has had 1 good half of a season with the Braves. It's pretty much an outlier if you look at the rest of his stats. He might be pitching well in the minors but I don't trust the guy. I'm saying this as a Braves fan. I think he might be able to have a couple of solid starts, but I wouldn't expect him to do anything for your team. Chan Ho Park sucks, but Sosa is not that much better or worse.
