Terrence's blog is that the solution to the problem they have come up with is to return his buy-in to him. If you read the comments by Joy Miller to his blog, she doesn't represent herself very well. My favorite line of hers is "Remember one thing, Terrence, you're not Johnny Chan, you're Terrence Chan." I guess if he was Johnny Chan they would have done something different?
I don't see why a charity should shell out an additional 10k to pay him off and I was pretty sympathetic to the idea that one should hold a charity event to a different standard, but Ms. Miller is changing my mind.
