At least this concept of double-counting outs is in your brain. Countless times I see people saying they had 17 outs with their straight flush draws. When I try to explain why you have 15 outs, sometimes it's like I'm trying to explain quantum physics.
I just thought of something I hear constantly:
"I'm getting 2-1 on my money so I have to call." I'm not talking about any kind of straight or flush draw. Usually it's over cards or a pocket pair lower than the highest card on the board.
