You make good points (as usual). There's certainly an element of hypocrisy in most moralities. Sklansky has written of this, saying (and I'm simplifying here) that all people--even Andy Fox--are hypocrites/passive murderer if they don't send money to Africa.
What bothers me is the thrill of the hunt, the thrill of the kill, that some describe, the "sport" of it. And I do realize that you're saying that the animal I ate for dinner tonight is just as dead as the one a hunter shoots.
