Default Re: Gun accidents? Guns are dangrous?

Go to a firing range and rent a pistol for 50 bucks or whatever and shoot some targets like on tv that you can zoom farther away and closer. You will quickly find out that you can't hit [censored]. It's really quite amazing.

I have spent quite some time on the firing range. I mention that because it's worth noticing how much your aim improves after only a few hours of training. The fact that American citizens can buy guns without any formal training (correct me if I'm wrong) is just dumb, in the lack of a better word for it. If you need to pass a test to drive a car, there is certainly need for a test to buy a gun.

For the purpose of this discussion I think it's fair to steer away from the LA riots. If American life is like that then I wonder what American forces are doing creating peace in Iraq, and not in LA.

Basically, I'm just trying to understand the American mentality. Because, reading statistics and news on gun incidents in USA, I should ask myself: What is wrong with Americans?

I am tempted to suggest that the American gun culture emerged due to the fact that the creation USA was only possible because of land-stealing, genocide (Indians), and slavery (Africans).
