The government hasn't taken any action to "can" Imus. No person or entity has the ability to force the employer to fire Imus. Imus' employer listens to Imus, listens to Sharpton, listens to others in the public, and the employer makes a decision. If you don't like Imus' employer's decision, don't support Imus' employer. If you disagree with Sharpton or Jackson, speak out against them. But why is it there is something wrong with "the sick direction of our country" when this incident is just an example of the free market at work?
