Default Six month update

dcasper70 thought that 6 month updates would be cool and I agree.
Well Clive, mom, and dad are doing great. Mom took 3 months off to care for him and then grandma came down from Cleveland for the next month as we were still on daycare waiting lists.
Fatherhood has changed me quite a bit. A couple of things I've learned:
The first 6 weeks really does suck. Sleep-deprivation mostly. And the little guy isn't really interacting with you yet and doesn't have a personality yet so you're just caring for this little cute bag of squirm.

Related to this I've learned hangovers and baby don't mix. I can't believe how little I drink now.

While fatherhood has calmed me down quite a bit, I get more agitated by people doing things that I perceive could put my baby at risk (cutting me off, their dogs off leashes, etc.)
I actually am more focussed and efficient at work. I attribute this entirely to the boy.

Then, just when it seems you're going to go crazy, the little jerk starts smiling at you and nothing else matters. You start annoying people talking about the baby, shoving pictures in their faces, etc.

Now here he just had his 1/2 year bithday and every day is a joy. He's been in daycare for 2 months now and, while he had a few weeks of seemingly endless colds and stomach bugs (sooo many dirty diapers), he's healthy and happy and that makes mom and I the happiest people on the planet.

Mom and I are almost done shedding our pregnancy weight. (yeah, I really dropped the ball working out during her term and being constantly surrounded by cupcakes didn't help).

His daycare experience really opened my eyes. His daycare has several atypically developing babies and it really hits home to see how love overcomes anything.
