not sure if anyone is still answering questions in this thread, but w/e:

in my league I need 20 starters: 11 hitters {2 catchers + standard positions + 2 utility} & 9 pitchers {at most 4 of whom are relievers}. we can keep an active bench of 5 guys, any position, plus DL players.

we can change rosters every day. 7 x 5 league.

question is, what should my optimal bench strategy be?

how many extra SP? extra RP? extra position players - and which positions?

right now my backups are a $1 2b (Kelly Johnson), 2 extra decent OF's, a great value backup 3b (Chad Tracy at $5) and 2 decent back up SP's. when Gagne comes back from the DL I'll have to drop someone. who? how does the rest of my bench makeup look?
