Default Re: Most underrated NBA player of last 20 years

lapoker,

Last night out of nowhere I remembered what an awesome career KJ had and how similar his numbers were to Nash. Witness:

88-89: 20.4 PPG, 12.2 APG, 4.2 RPG, .505 FG%, 55 wins
89-90: 22.5 PPG, 11.4 APG, 3.6 RPG, .499 FG%, 54 wins
90-91: 22.2 PPG, 10.1 APG, 3.5 RPG, .516 FG%, 55 wins
91-92: 19.7 PPG, 10.7 APG, 3.7 RPG, .479 FG%, 53 wins

93-94: 20.0 PPG, 9.5 APG, 2.5 RPG, .487 FG%, 56 wins

95-96: 18.7 PPG, 9.2 APG, 3.9 RPG, .507 FG%, 41 wins
96-97: 20.1 PPG, 9.3 APG, 3.6 RPG, .496 FG%, 40 wins

Shoots 50+%, averaged 49% FG and 9.1 APG. Those rebound numbers are impressive for a little guard too. Definitely underrated (actually his numbers, 3FG% aside look a like like Nash, heh), but I think the giant persona of Barkley arriving on the scene in the middle of his career had a lot to do with marginalizing his performance.

SWEAR TO GOD I'm not trying to open up a Nash debate here, just using that as a measuring stick to appreciate KJ's career.
