Unless I misread you, this seems to be the exact essense of what I said. Ie.: always have twice the current buy-in, and move down if I don't. 20 buy-ins for .01/.02 ($2) = 2 buy-ins for .05/.10 ($10)
Obviously, while I'm learning, I'd be moving backwards more often than forwards. But I could never be broke, unless I was always losing at the .01/.02 tables, in which case I should give up poker.
