After blowing your nose, you have to look, mainly to make sure that its on the tissue and hasn't flown off in some crazy direction and attached itself to something it shouldn't have. This is to avoid an embarassing scene ala "theres something about mary"...

This is exactly why I look at the tissue, particularly when I am sporting a beard or goatee (as I am currently).
