What kind of clothing is considered to be "nice" in Europe? I have some dress pants in various colors, and button/colared shirts (usually striped or with decorative designs), but thats about it.

What do you guys think is a appropriate?

Same stuff is considered "nice" in Europe as it is here in the USA. It's just that they do it so much better than us that no matter how you try you will probably wind up looking like a disgusting American with no fashion sense by comparison.

LOL, so true. Guys, shirts other than t-shirts and nice shoes will be good enough.

If you figure all the suits for sale in Monte Carlo cost atleast $2K, you will probably look like an uncouth American no matter what you wear next to the wealthy aristocratic southern Europeans, but you don't want to look like a bum. I would suggest wearing nice dress shoes, button down shirt or polo shirt, and maybe sweater or sports coat to places not requiring semiformal dress. Wear the most expensive and fashionable clothes you have, and try to be color coordinated.
