I apologize to those involved in what was a huge error in judgment on my part. I took a chance in allowing Vig to post his story based on the proof his wife had cancer and it turns out I was wrong to do so.

The thing that is truly saddening is that now BBV will no longer be a reliable place for people to come and collect money for their relatives/loved ones in need....

greenstein-style donation efforts are always going to be welcomed
[/ QUOTE ]
You mean mass-movements to donate small amounts of money to well-established charities constitutes a positive idea whereas directing funds towards random participants on anonymous gambling-related internet message boards who are claiming that their significant others have cancer is just retarded and outrageous?
[/ QUOTE ]
yes
did you miss the part where I admitted I made a mistake or are you just an ass?
[/ QUOTE ]
Just an ass. I think it's worth harping on the foolishness of your mistake, since it cost normal, unsuspecting 2+2ers money. I don't really care about forum politics, and I don't have any opinion on you aside from this, but it's not like apologizing gets you off the hook instantly. How much money was "donated" anyway?
[/ QUOTE ]
you are being way too hard on GW here.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok, I get it...not meaning to be hard on Gild, my original comments were more meant to highlight the overall absurdity of using a forum on an internet message board (one dedicated to the least rational aspects of poker, no less) as a vessel for charitable donations.
I think it's great the thing that y'all did with Barry and the Doncuments, but it's a bad precedent to set when this board gets used as a publicity vehicle for people's individual charity needs, no matter how valid or painful they are. Really, it's much worse that allowing staking requests on this forum (which I believe are prohibited). Anyway, didn't mean to harsh on GW, and I think it's probably a good thing for BBV in the long run that this whole operation went down in flames. F Vigorish.
