Default Re: Major Party Upgrade - Official Q&A thread. (#4 of 4.)

[ QUOTE ]
I'm sure that there are very few people with my problem, and therefore I'm also sure that this will be of no great concern to Party. Still, I figure I may as well get it on the record.

I mainly play on an older computer. Before the update, Party was already running a little gimpy for me, especially with PokerTracker, GT+, and four tables running. After this update, PartyPoker is absolutely too slow on my computer even to consider playing, with or without the other programs.

For the time being, I'll have to play mostly on PokerStars which, with its less taxing software, has always run very cleanly even on my ancient machine. That's too bad, since I like most of the changes that Party's made (especially table re-sizing).

I'm glad someone brought this up and I do think it's a problem at the moment - I went back on and the thing didn't actually [censored] up for a couple of hours. However, even with PT off, etc, within an hour it was like playing through treacle. Everything was ridiculously slow and laggy.

And this is me playing using an Ahtlon 3500+, 1GB of fast RAM, a ridiculously overpowered graphics card, SCSI HDD set up (as if the last two should make any difference for a poker client), etc...

I mean COME ON!

Oh, and I tried to install the latest patch but it simply wouldn't let me. Colo(u)r me surprised.
