Default Re: Retarded Laydown?

This hand actually reminds me of a hand I played a long time ago in a live game.

Early on, this lady almost folded AK, on an Ace high board, when I played my AQ strongly, and said something like, 'Oh, I thought you had a good hand.'

Anyway, a little later on, I raise preflop on the button, and she threebets. I call with my AQ suited. The flop comes AKx, she checks, I bet, she checkraises, and I know that I am drawing dead, so I flick my cards into the muck, but they catch on the button, and turn over. The dealer looks at me like I'm on crack.

There are some other players in the pot, so the action continues, and the river is a queen, he gives me a meaningful look, and I shrug my shoulders like it doesn't matter.

The hand goes to showdown, and the lady shows AK, I was drawing to running queens or a running straight on the flop.

Sometimes, you just know that your hand can't be any good, and you just have to go with it.

Calling here, would be the same as lighting a big bet on fire.
