arguing who is "best" is pretty futile----i would say this: hendrix created a new way hearing the instrument ("the sound" as others have said). i think of him like miles, bird or trane. listen to tv soundtracks---esp dick wolf prods- and listen to how mike post has the musicians use the above artist's sound. he also uses neil young's sound a lot (re: the law and order theme). i saw all that have been discussed except jimmy page at least once. i remember hendrix the most vividly, but that was because of "that sound"....................b
