I've always hated "take a marginal hand in a vacuum and analyze it." Only a 12 tabling hudbot has no reads. Reads are poker. You take what pertinent knowledge you have about a player and you apply it a new and different situations. That's why Player A can read the same books and posts, use the same preflop strategy as Player B and be better than player B.

You would need to see him play this situation 1000's of times to know how he plays these situations? I am courios what type of reads you guys have on people. (He only min-rasies flush draws on paired boards on thursdays?)
So few hands with this action make it to showdown. Of the hands that do they are weighted towards his stronger hands. How much do you change your plays vs specific opp and how do you know your "read" is right.

You never really do. Its more of an induction exercise. I've seen him play x hand in a spot similar to this and understand that his general thought process for most situations so I think he will do X here. And if you play with a guy enough most people get predictable in their bluffing frequencies. I think this guy is irritated and will play back at me in X spot. Watch Rekrul play headsup sometime. This is his basic thought process.
Note: Doesn't work against a bookish tag worth a damn.
