Dude, you got ripped on alot of these prices. Unless you live in Hawaii, it shouldn't have cost you $115 for plywood. Our table cost us maybe $140 total. If we added a racetrack, it would have tacked on roughly $23 extra for the other piece of wood and stain and laquer. Come on down to Lowes for your supplies next time [/shameless plug].

I would love to hear how much these parts cost you. Even the cheapest plywood at home depot was at least $20 bucks. Where are you from BTW where you can get these parts cheaper?

All the big ticket items like the whisper vinyl, the foam, the velveen, and the headliner are from proprietary sellers. The foam was expensive because I bought the really big piece (not smaller pieces which I glued together and risked having a seam).

Let me know cause I may build another table down the road.

You got these at the right price.

If it's been a while since some of you bought lumber, there was a HUGE price jump about 2 years ago. A sheet of 3/4" red oak goes for $50+. Birch plywood is a little bit cheaper, with 3/4" going for around 40. The OSB i mention above went for about $8 per sheet a couple years ago, but they shut a couple factories down, and now it goes for about $30 per sheet, depending on how thick you get it. Lumber is now REALLY expensive. Hell, even 2x4 pine studs are a few bucks each, instead of being less than a buck.

I just looked into some bamboo plywood, like you see on some of the modern furniture, cuz its cool stuff, and i want to make something out of it. It's about $200 for a sheet. Needless to say, i wont be making anything out of it any time soon. Maple burl can go for over $500 per sheet
