So that leaves sidebets which are annoying but can be removed (removing the image or reconfiguring the image not to appear, reference in another post and doable on old party client as well.)

I dont see how including these new games/bets/options contradicts their responsible gambling efforts. Now that the accounts are linked the deposit limits still apply to all Party gaming activities.
And IMHO if you can't have enough personal control that you require PartyGaming to block/hide/remove these other gambling activities from you then it is questionable if you should be allowed to play poker either.
