Default Re: Unpopular opinions that you hold

Darryl Strawberry is the greatest power hitting RF in mlb since the early eighties.

I'll listen to reasonable arguments against my opinion, but anyone who even suggests that Andre Dawson was a better player than Strawberry instantly loses all credibility with regards to discussing the sport.

Um... are you discounting Sammy Sosa because he probably used roids, or have you just lost touch with reality?

Sammy's career didn't start early enough for comparison...and, frankly, he was never a home run hitter prior to 'roids, and he couldn't take a walk if his life depended on it, and his defense was no better than mediocre.

However, I'm kinda stunned that Dale Murphy (more MVPs than Straw or Andre) and Larry Walker are not in the discussion, especially given the fact Straw only once played more than 63 games in a season after he was 29 years old, and has a lifetime batting average of .259.

I guess that's why your opinion would be unpopular, because the numbers just don't support it.

Some of his homers sure were majestic, though.
