It depends on the context though, I think as played the "let's meet up for drinks" came off as really random, as you hadn't quite worked up to that point yet. Maybe something like this:
You: "oh cool, what bars do you like in dallas?"
Her: "well my favorite is xxxx"
You: "I love that place! we should meet up for drinks there sometime"

If you don't know the place she says, I'd try:
"I've heard of it, don't know where it is. I heard it was really great!/terrible!"
(either will do, as long as it's one of the extremes. If you say terrible (reason: 'I heard it was a bit dead'), it may lead her into correcting you, and make it v. easy to move to 'are you sure I'd like it? Why don't we meet there, and you set me right?')
