Sure. Just like all "news viewers" are suddenly demanding wall-to-wall coverage of Anna Nicole Smith's refrigerator, (rather than news on the Iraq War and Bush's impending invasion of Iran).
Yes, clearly this is all just the "free market" at work.
Now, go back to sleep.

During the 2-3 days immediately after her death this was all anybody in my office was talking about around their cubes.
People like tabloid gossip BS, always have, not everything is a huge conspiracy. It's cute you think WE'RE in the dreamworld and your paranoid fantasies are reality.
Might wanna look out your window, that car parked on the street looks REALLY suspicious...

I would suggest that it's a little bit of both. When the people find out what really happened in government, it will be the greatest story ever told. People will be absolutely glued to it.
The "top story" is always relative. Remember Condit was the top story for months, then 9/11 occurred and we never heard the story again. As far as the vast majority of people are concerned, there's not a problem right now so we're back to another Condit-type story. The free market is demanding it because the other stories have not been "priced in" to the market yet.
The border issue is being heavily "pushed" by large groups of people into the alternative media and it is just the tip of a very large iceberg.
