Okay, but do you understand why some men might feel uncomfortable showering with gay men, or do you think that's completely ridiculous?
[/ QUOTE ]
Of course I understand why some men would be uncomfortable. But it shouldn't be the job of society to tailor everything to fit the comfort level of the more intolerant/fearful/ignorant members.

I have showered publicly during team sports many many times in school and never thought twice of it, including conversing etc.
The other day an unknown man was looking at me at the gym down there (and not just a glance, either), and it creeped me out.
If hes gay, I don't care, but staring at me is not acceptable. I strongly suspect any gay at the pro level has enough intelligence to not stare at other men's privates.

As for straight men and women showering together, I'd say we're probably no more than 30 years away from that being the norm. It's funny that whenever you see some movie that takes place in the future, they always have men and women using the same locker rooms because people have finally gotten mature about that (for example, Robocop, Aliens, Starship Troopers).

I think this is much more in line with why slasher movies involve naked chicks than a commentary on future humans.
