I would probably check behind anyway even if I had been floating, because villains usually won't know a float actually is float, and our hand isn't strong enough to stand a turn c/r with the overcard in there.

I meant to say that if op had been floating a lot lately, he shouldn't bet that turn because there is a bigger risk to get check/raised by a somewhat attentive player and we certainly don't want that because we might actually have the best hand.
