Default Re: New Fight Question

[ QUOTE ]
ok. this is my first post ever even thou i've been readin from this website every single day for the last yr or so. i felt i had to finally subscribe and write b/c this question has been around for a while and noone gets it right. i'm amazed at the plain ignorance in this subject from u all. that said, this is how it goes...
almost everyone agrees the streetfighter and boxer would be last b/c of limited set of skills and other reasons i won't repeat cause they've already been posted. these two havin the worst chance of survivin makes perfect sense. here's what bothers me. how come almost noone chooses the martial artist? noone here has the slightest idea of what "the greatest martial artist in the world" would be capable of. i practiced martial arts for 9 yrs. taekwondo, karate, and cuong nhu so even thou i'm no expert i think i know enough about it to make a claim for this.
i once saw a fight (about 7 yrs ago) where this guy beat up a whole gang by himself in front of a club. literally a gang of streetfighters (13 of them) by himself. the fight lasted less than 5 minutes. this guy had 3 black belts in 3 different discplines. he was an excellent fighter, but from what i've seen he's not even close to "the best in the world". i think of it this way: 13 people just like me, or better said, 13 me's would beat the living sh** out of fedor or a navy seal. how can fedor or a navy seal then beat the greatest martial artist of them all? u think the navy seal or fedor would stand a chance against bruce lee or steven seagal in their prime? let me assure that they could take on 2 or 3 fedors in 3 minutes.

Uh, no. Your experience notwithstanding, "asian martial artists" are no match for an MMA fighter. Just think: why are NO strictly Kung Fu/Tae Kwon Do/Karate practicioners able to beat Fedor/Mirko/Josh Barnett, etc? The matchups have taken place, and the Kung Fu guys get MANHANDLED.

Now, I know the fights took place with some holds barred, but nothing was barred that took an edge from the standup fighter. Nothing.

The "UFC champ" wins this contest--no questions asked.
