I think there are very few people that would suggest that you should be ashamed of being a straight white male. The reason being is that most people in America are straight and white.

I think the distinction that has already been made is that when people talk about gay "pride" and black "pride", they are really talking about not being ashamed of who and what they are, and I think that it is safe to say that engrained in our society, which is changing, is that people that are gay or black are somehow inferior to people that are straight or white.
