JA - It's been awhile since I've been to Paris but here is my suggestion. Paris is a great place to walk. You can literally traverse the city on foot in a few hours. What I would do is find the major city attractions on a map and then not go there. Walk around until you find a neighborhood restaurant that looks like a nice place to eat. If you do this I'll bet you find the French to be very nice and fun to be around.
