The carrier does have a little bit of slop around the chip racks, so the may shift slightly during transport, and I'm not sure how much longterm abuse that carrier can take, but I'd guess less than an aluminum briefcase style case.

I've been thinking about getting that item. How many of each color chip did you get? I can't seem to figure out that info from the description. If it's like what's in the photo, it looks like the set up is more suitable for cash games than it is tournements.
