With a big hand, I usually raise, then if I get 3-bet and I'm worried, I curse a little under my breath and call. Sometimes I lose, but I don't think I lose often enough to fall behind the times I make an extra bet or get two more from someone being an idiot.

Yeah that sounds right. I'm no expert so I leave things like "math" and "pot odds" to other people.
