Manning gets a lot of that hate because his fans proclaim him as the best when he hasn't won anything despite having a great supporting cast throughout his pro and college career(not sure about HS).

I personally don't mind him at all, but I can see why some people wouldn't like him. He(and his bro fwiw) can come across as the spoiled rich white kids that grew up getting whatever they want, but they're not really tough and choke in big spots- I'M NOT AT ALL SAYING THIS IS TRUE, just explaining where some of the hate may come from.

I like the caps, you've been attacked here one too many times and are getting, understandably, a little gunshy.
As for the meat, sorry but football is a team game, people have discussed at length the Manning v. Brady issue and I'll give you a quick summery:

Manning Fans: His numbers put him as the best QB of all time. Sometimes his losses aren't his fault and there are 21 other guys that didn't play well enough to win.

Brady fans: RIIIIIIIIINGS!!! lalalalala I CAN'T HERE YOU.

I mean some people will never get that and that's fine, but anyone that watches football has certainly seen some of the other players on the field.

Manning get's hyped because of his skills, he's the smartest player on the field and, and I'll be a bit of a fanboy here, he's alot of fun to watch.

Yeah, in these playoffs (to speak only of this year) he's had a tough go, but so has Brady, although not as much. Teams realize that they are great QBs will tear them apart if they don't drop more me back, and drop further. People think "Catch=good QB, No catch=Bad QB" but anyone competent football fan knows alot goes into even one play and one has to expand the criteria for judgement.

A Colts fan complaining about the officiating is the ultimate irony imo. Many calls went against Baltimore, including by far the biggest call of the game, which if it was called correctly may have meant a BAltimore win.

Colts fan? Que? I spend most of my time talking about Manning and the Colts because they get talked about the most. Cause and effect. I also defend Brady when people say he's "the product of his system" and other wrongitudes.

As for the call. Yep they blew the whistle way too early on that Pick. Sucks, but let's not pretend that they are the first or last team to get screwed, hell the Colts will probably get screwed there next week (I mean they won't because the NFL pays refs not to flag the Colts, but in a just world they would ). That non-flag concerning Wayne could've kept the Colts from stalling and getting a FG.
