Edit: And it's Gau in Massachusetts/RI/NH/ME, and Tso in NY/CT/VT. My understanding is Tso is much more prevalent in the rest of the country. But I just order General "Gow"'s chicken here in Massachusetts, and General "So"'s chicken most other places. Usually General's Chicken gets the message across.
