glocks are OK, but you may want something with a safety. I would recommend you look at Berettas. They fire much smoother than glocks and they have a real safety. They aren't as reliable as glocks though and require more maintenance.

And get a 40cal. 9MM (which is what I assume you meant unless they started making 10MM shells) doesn't have quite the stopping power. The US military switched to the 9MM Beretta and away from the super awesome badass colt 45 (in use for almost 80 years as the standard officer sidearm) because the 9MM was easier for women to fire.

Most cops carry 40s

Get a keypad gunsafe that fits under your bed. Forget the trigger lock as you don't want to fuc around with a key if you really need the gun.
