I think it's pretty common.
Partly, it takes some effort to get up, brush your teeth, do whatever, and go to bed and you get too tired to want to do that.
Partly, don't want to miss out on either reading a good 2p2 post or the right chance to make the perfect response to a 2p2 post.
I did this sometimes before I had the internet - just stuck watching dumb TV - but it's worse with the internet.

Partly, you might need more socialization than you are getting during the day.
