A lot of people refer to any three of a kind as trips, but some nit-pickers insist that the term "trips" should only refer to 3 of a kind when you have one of the cards in your hand and two on the board.
I imagine the poster's point was that he should called it a "set."
Whatever . . . Doesn't seem like something to get all hot and bothered about.

'set' isn't heard too much in Toronto card rooms. People around here also insist on calling the button 'the puck'.
