There are companies that might hire you on a salary to be a junior planner, planning assistant, or whatever. Maybe check out the Financial Planning Association (
FPA). There are job listing there. You could join the FPA, find a local chapter, and go to meetings (usually monthly). That might be a networking opportunity where you can meet with hiring people in these small companies.
