Re: Your five favorite games of all time?
1. Super Mario 64 - Nothing need be said. IMO it's the best game ever made as well as my favorite.
2. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - I scoffed at the whole GTA craze until I found out that Vice City takes place in Miami in the 80's. Best real-world setting and soundtrack ever. San Andreas is a better game, but I love the 80's.
3. Maniac Mansion - I prefer the NES version because it has music. Classic adventure game. The NES version is censored in parts, but in one case that makes it even funnier. In one of the rooms, an arcade machine called "Muff Diver" on the PC is called "Tuna Diver" on NES.
4. Deus Ex - This game is dripping with atmosphere. Everyone loves a disturbing dystopian future. Deus Ex has it all, from futuristic skyscrapers to the slums of New York and Hong Kong. It also might be the scariest game I've ever played. I'll never forget crawling through an air duct and turning around to find a small escaped dinosaur attacking me in the enclosed area.
And there's nothing worse than when the "Grays" (your typical skinny big-headed hairless aliens) spot you and start sprinting at you faster than you can run.
5. Leisure Suit Larry 3 - There's a ton of games this spot could belong to, but I'll choose LSL3. The bulk of the game is explorable right from the start, as opposed to the more linear, cutscene-laden adventure games of recent years. You just walk around finding girls and figuring out how to get them in the sack. The puzzles are tough but logical.
