If there was a $5-$10 game with a few aggressive players, someone who knows how to play a shortstack would almost certainly have a higher earn shortstacking that game than playing in the $300-$500 game.
At Winstar, they have the same buyin games, and from what I have seen, the $5-$10 game plays super aggressive preflop. I actually think shortstacking that is the most profitable way to play it. If I played it, I'd buy in for $500, double up, then bring my stack up to $2000 (the max buy in). I think in terms of EV in that game, shortstacking is highest (for someone who knows how to play short), then full stack, and then a medium $1000-$1500 stack.
