Both of those English links are about events over 100 years old. I can't be bothered to sort through the French one. So, basically, "LOL", those links are absolutely irrelevant.

Those facts are entirely irrelevant to the conversation. You're talking about things that happened over 100 years ago. Yes, in 1890 there were some attempts by English Canada to crush the French language.
In 2006, there is no active movement in Canada to repress French language and culture. There is, however, a movement to repress
English language and culture in Quebec. This is a fact, most obviously shown by the language laws, and French school laws, as described by Hopey.
