7-tabling shouldn't affect the amount of buy-ins you need...each table is independent of the other and if you can play solid on 7 tables, well then it doesn't matter. The reason we play more tables is to obviously get more hands in, which also DECREASES variance.

Playing more tables generally decreases your win-rate which INCREASES variance. A person playing two tables at a time will need less buy-ins in their BR to risk going broke than the same person playing eight tables at a time.

O Really? I beg to differ. I really don't think winrate has anything to do with variance. Variance deals with Standard deviations (your ups and your downs). If you play like a suicidal maniac well then you need a huge bankroll. While the premise of multi-tabling is to increase overall winrate, but it shouldn't increase variance. You're not gonna spontaneously lose 7 buy-ins b/c you're playing 7 tables. The idea behind multi-tabling in my opinion, is to make the "short-term" longer....

sorry this is a total ramble, but multi-tabling doesn't have a huge effect on bankroll management unless the player can't handle playing that many tables. And if the player can't handle playing that many tables, well then they shouldn't be playing that many.
