I found myself in this situation just yesterday at a casino in Las Vegas. It was a $60 buyin with a single $40 addon.

I waited to see if anyone else at my table made an early rebuy. Only one man did, so I became the second. Nobody else did.

On the second hand of the tourny, one gentleman in early position shoved all-in. The other rebuyer folded before the action got to me in middle position. I looked down and found AK suited.

I made the call, everyone else folded, and my opponent revealed his pair - KK. Luckily, I caught an Ace on the flop.

My point here is this: If he would have made the early rebuy, I would have had a much tougher decision and might have laided this hand down at this stage of the tourny.
