Probably. Considering the interrelated schedule, the lesser number of teams, the more games played, the NFL can do a very good job of figuring out who the best teams in football are every year.
2005: Ind. vs. Seattle
2004: Ok, this is a clusterfuck, Ind, Pit, and NE were all excellent and could've take on Philly.
2003: Carolina luckboxed the NFC (should've been philly/GB), NE, KC, Ten or INd were all excellent AFC teams.
2002: Yeah, TB vs. Oakland.
2001: The NE luckbox year. Pit or Oak should've taken on STL and lost badly.
I guess it's just too ambiguous many years, the bye system really helps weed out the weaker teams. The only ones where you can really argue a team shouldn't have won were 2005, and 2001.
