Can anyone of you say conclusively that ball did not touch paint?

This is the problem with that call. Watching the replay, it is CLEAR that Ben takes the ball into the end zone after he was already downed. And the ref who had the best view, didn't signal TD until AFTER that point.

Ben taking the ball back into the endzone at the end of the play doesn't mean much. He could have easily have broken the plane, gotten pushed back when he hit the defender, and then been downed.
Saying that the official didn't signal touchdown until after the above had happened doesn't mean much either. He had about a second to make the decision, you can't make too much about that.
I do agree that if the play had been ruled at the .2 yard line on the field it would have been extremely difficult to overturn in the booth and that sucks, but IMO it is much more likely that he was in than not.

The thing is, watching it live it looked like that ref was going to rule him down. Then he ran in, and it seems like after he saw Ben in the end zone is when he decided it was a TD. Maybe the ball did cross the goal line. It certainly was very, very close. But after he rules it a TD there, there's no way it can get overturned.
Hopefully the Hawks will come out in the 2nd half and put some points on the board, and it'll all be a moot point. I smell a big turnover from Big Ben soon.

OK, I take it back, the end zone full speed view I can see how it looks like a TD for sure. If Seattle plays some D on that 3rd down play when Ben threw it up for grabs to Ward, they never get it on the 1 anyway.
GO HAWKS IN THE 2ND HALF!!!
