Pretty sure that backing deal didn't come together until after his LAPC 1M win.

Although he loves action, I don't think he's gone broke in the pit. Pretty sure that Mike, at the very least, locked up some real estate after his score.

I'm also somewhat sure the people calling him a "douchebag" have never met him or talked to him, since Michael is really the opposite, a total sweetheart.

Lastly, I think it's hilarious that when someone is seen playing lower stakes than their bankroll should permit them to, that they are immediately assumed to have gone broke. I remember walking into the big room at the Rio over the summer and Grinder was sitting in the $200 2nd-chance tourney. He said "I just woke up." Clearly he loves the action for its own sake and I think it's that love which makes him a champ. As for 1-tabling 30/60 on stars all day, that could have been any number of people playing the account.
