Yeah, actually that's how chicks work. It took a huge paradigm shift (and a reading of now famous The Game) for me to realize this a few years ago. Chicks ALWAYS are sh.itting on you just to see if you have the balls to stand up for yourself. If you hold your own, they'll storm off, come back later and apologize, and then eventually stop doing it. It's messed up, but whatever.
