Escorts/passports used to be really good back in the day, but nowadays I get the impression that by the time they detect the radar, you've already been clocked. My advice is to throw the radar detector out the window. I got rid of mine and I ended up getting less tickets without one. I became more aware of my surroundings because I wasn't lulled into a false sense of security by the detector, and I stopped going more than 10mph over the limit, but continued to accelerate, and corner very fast. Plus, if cops pull you over and they see a radar detector, theres no way in hell you are getting out of a ticket... at least without one there is a chance.

Keep the car, learn to control yourself, don't road rage, leave for your destination earlier, use cruise control where you can.
