This move is a wet dream for the yankees and exactly why they picked up his option. Even if none of these guys develop it was a good gamble. Moreover, they kept the out-going player happy in that he gets the 3 year deal he craved. The key is exactly that quoted above, "Sheffield was going somewhere."
