Re: Not!
Fossilman,
I moderate another poker forum, so I don't have the time to contribute much here, Mr. Raymer, but if I haven't already congradulated you, I must do so. To win in a field like that requires a ton of luck, but even more skill, patience, and discipline. I know you've been attempting to improve your Omaha game over the last year, could you post some results or thoughts on your play in a different thread?
Just a little curious.
Leonardo,
Who cares whether he plays or not? EV is dependent on constants and there is no constant $50k buy-in tournament. Fossilman not playing isn't like Randy Moss walking off the field. He owes us nothing. He owes you nothing. He has no boss to owe either. He's a family man that plays poker for a living.
POKER PLAYERS ARE NOT ATHLETES!!!! This is where you sound like a damn moron. You're comparing a poker player to athletes? Notice that Raymer said that he'd play if it were televised. Not because he wants to be on television, but because Poker Stars will sponsor him and he is guaranteed money.
Phil Ivey is one of the best poker players around right now and the only two big tournaments in which there wasn't a huge cash game on the side were the American Poker Championship in which he won and a WPT even where he made the final table. He's known for working early and tankin' chips to hit the cash game. That's a little ridiculous, but WHO CARES?!!!! It's their money. Let them do what they want with it and when you win $5M in a tournament, you can play all 1 of the annual $50k tournamenT you want to.
I'd put you on my ignore list, Leo, but you're so stupid that you amuse me.
