I disagree -
things didn't change until 2000 when the ruling party decided to abandon the middle and shoot for that 50.1 percent magic number by veering so hard to the right you need to send the Speaker of the House out to church to campaign.
The Democrats are a voice of sanity in the wilderness - like John the Baptist - clearing out Pharisees and Republicans and making the path straight for God -
nah, they'll probably grill babies for breakfast, let terrorists and hurricanes win, and expunge the name of God from our money (always felt sacreligious to me anyways) - oh, the horrors, the horrors, the horrors..
MO looks like it's been declared and VA is almost 10K votes ahead in the Democratic column - 50-48-2 looks like a NICE Start to cleanup in the Senate -
the American public demanded accountability in massive numbers this midterm - we'll give it to them - starting with the war profiteers

No, I don't think the dems are sane at all. I think they both equally suck. The dems will have a bunch of bad ideas to go with a bunch of bad ideas from the repubs. It may even get worse.
