what is a 60 wedge? pitching wedge?
[/ QUOTE ]
60 degrees of loft on the face of the wedge. it's also called a lob wedge. I can't hit mine more than 40 yards or so, because i find that the harder i swing the less distance i get, it just goes higher in the air.
for reference, a pitching wedge is 54 degrees, sand wedge is usually 56-58. My uncle has a "Tom Watson wedge" that is 64 degrees.

This isn't really relevant to the thread, but 54 would be a pretty high loft for a pitching wedge, most gap wedges are 52-53. Lofts vary slightly, but a pitching wedge is usually about 48 (or lower on most blades).
Limon, great thread. There are a few things I want to ask either later or tomorrow. One of the best "Ask me" threads I can remember.
