They are the last people I'd want to piss off. In high school a friend of mine had a Ford Ranger (about 15 years ago). The border guard asked if he had anything in his truck and he responded in typical smartass tone, "a spare tire and a jack." They pulled us over, took his seats out and left it to him to put it back together. I'm not sure if htey took his door panels off or not, but they may have. I think they may have given him a socket wrench, but I don't really know since I hopped in w/ a car that was following us over there.
